Default Key fob warning

All of a sudden, I'm getting a warning that the Key Fob battery is low. The car is under 2 year old, I don't know why it would have used all of the battery. Has anyone else run into this proble, and is it only replaceable at the dealer?

You are lucky it let you know it is low. Mine just quit after only eight months. Then the alarm went off when I tried to use the key and I couldn't shut it off. Until I put the key in the ignition.

Apparently, the closer you store they key to the vehicle, the more battery is used.

Yep .. mine did the same. just as MIKEon22s said with a small screwdriver or knife. It uses a 2035 battery. Correction ... 2032.

I replaced my batt about two months ago and I am getting batt low messages every now and then, so I removed the batt and checked it and it has 3.3 DCV. The batt say's 3.0V on it so my batt is good. I read the manuel and there is a sentance that say's to not touch the batt with your fingers and if you do clean it with rubbing alcohol. Well it's almost impossiable to install a batt with out touching it but anyhow do you guys think that might be the problem with premature batt failuer ??
