Word of advice to all those with this TIPM problem. Call Chrysler and set up a case number. Bring it to dealership for a "official diagnosis". Call Chrysler again and let them know you are aware of the ongoing defect and need to know when the recall will start and have Chrysler escalate you to a case manager. Get a call from the dealer to pick up your truck today with a brand new "tippem"....
Never got nasty, just stated facts.
Good luck to you all who have to suffer through this, follow my steps and you may have some success.

This week, just a few days before my warranty expired, I had a tipm-7 replaced on my 2012 dodge durango on warranty repair. The dealership's diagnosis was indeed a faulty fuel pump rely based on the fact that I told them it did a one time no start - kudos to the service departments!

I'm a little disappointed that the P54 recall did not include 2012 vehicles. I also have a young toddler that rides in this car and for it to stall is not a risk anyone likewise should take. My last two cars were BMWs but given the automotive industry crisis of 2008-10, I thought I'd give our economy a chance and buy American. But so far, 2 recalls (brake booster, sun visor) is not looking good.

Anyone else thinking the same?

The recall hasn't been published yet BTW.

BMW Recalls 156,000 cars for possible stalling. April 2014. You could buy another BMW if you want.

Sorry it took so ling wash man.

It's a 2011 durango with the V6 engine.

Little bit of an update. I had my dealer here in town confirm that the vehicles problem was the TIPM. So I have been going round and round with Chrysler and they are no help. Mainly saying DEAL WITH IT WE HAVE NO FIX. I now can't even get the vehicle's engine to turn over. I got it awhile back to turn over and when it did it stalled on me on hwy 12 and i80 doing about 65 mph. Yes I told Chrysler. But they don't care.

Chrysler doesn't care if it gets fixed. I think I am going to have to go to small claims court. Because every day this vehicle is down it's costing me money (Meaning getting to and from work). Chrysler should have given us a rental car until they know how to fix the problem. Because right now they are just saying yep there is a problem but we have no idea how to fix it. They are stalling.

And Wash man I will not get a ford after reading consumer reports. Chrysler and Ford are dominating the worst vehicle's list. They are pretty much the list. Looking more like a Toyota.

Thanks again. Sorry it took so long to get back to ya.

They are required to send those notices out even if there are no parts ready.

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL P54 / NHTSA 14V-530
This interim notice applies to your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
This interim notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Dear: (Name)
Chrysler has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2011 model year Jeep® Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. The problem is...
The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) on your vehicle contains an internal fuel pump relay that could operate intermittently or fail without warning. An intermittent or failed fuel pump relay could cause the engine to stall while driving and cause a crash without warning.
What your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). However, the part required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition is currently not available. Chrysler is making every effort to provide the part as quickly as possible. Chrysler will contact you again by mail, with a follow-up recall notice, when the remedy part is available.
What you must do to ensure your safety...
Once you receive your follow-up notice in the mail, simply contact your Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer right away to schedule a service appointment.
If you need help...
If you have questions or concerns which your dealer is unable to resolve, please contact the Chrysler Group Recall Assistance Center at 1-800-853-1403.

I'm going to ignore the visor recall since no dealer tampering with the headliner has happened, so I don't think there are any fire worries. All I've done is the brake booster recall(took less than an hour) and a TSB flash and knock on wood, after nearly 19,000 miles my 2013 R/T has been excellent. I truly love this car and hope it continues to be an enjoyable experience.

You have to realize with all the major changes in computer modules and software in the last 5 years, that cars are going to be much more susceptible to recalls.

When a Nav unit goes out now you lose nearly all your controls--not liking that. I think that's why I'm partial to my 2013 which has a 7+ year old "dated" design screen and good ol' fashioned button/switches.

AMEN WANNA V8
Everybody wants all the fancy goodness but noone wants to understand it needs updates.
Ever count how many updates windows does per year. Consider each and everyone of those to be a recall and trust me a security breach on your credit or personal info could be as bad as your car stalling.

GREAT NEWS.
I just got off the phone with the dodge 800 number and was told dodge just released a temp fix for the p54 a few days ago. So she (dodge) called my dealer and told them what to do to fix the p54 problem. I will have to come back latter for a permanent fix but this should fix the problem for now. And yes they have these parts. So call the 800 number and they will call your dealer to have it fixed for now.
