I'm not sure of this site's rules for referring to other sites so I won't post links. They are not being discontinued. I have someone on here told me the 2016 order banks open Oct. 26 with production beginning the end of November. Another site had someone that's posted the new model year's particular's in advance of the press release for every year since 2013. He just posted details of the 2016 models.
The general consensus seems to be that 2016 is real and that 2017 will be a full-up redesign. I'm not a source in the know so to speak but I've gotten this independently from three different sources so it's probably as good as it'll get for the internet until they actually issue a press release.

Its a great seller indeed. Maybe they want to sacrifice it in order to place a completely new model that they think it will bring even bigger profits and its going to be a better technological innovation?

It's tough to say what this company is up to. IMO the CEO is a rich celebrity wanna be with some of his quotes and the crap he says in front of the camera.
Four days after he commented that there were no plans to revive a compact size pickup line Mitsubishi announced signing an agreement with FCA to jointly develop a compact truck for the US market based on the L200 platform...
