Default Tire buying time

Hi all,

I'd like to see if I can get some tire suggestions.

265/50/20s I'd like a decent tire that is quiet and handles well. I've got some somewhat difficult terrain in the winter with snow and ice. Gravel road, semi steep hills. In other words, if you don't have four wheels that are powered, leave it at home because you won't get out till spring thaw. : )

I'd also not like to pay $250 each.

Any suggestions?

Thanks as always

I put General Grabber HTS on my Durango but on 18's. They make that tire in 265/50-20.

Great in rain, dry, gravel and dirt. Not sure on snow yet. We use true winter tires here in winter due to sub 30's for 5 months.

My winter tires are Nitto Terra Grappler. Good tread wear rating too. I got them off discount tire.

The DD is a monster in the snow with them.

Check out discount tire. Always have had good luck with them. They have some really good, cheaper "house" brands. I don't mind Chinese tires. They warranty them just like every other tire and you can get them for way cheaper.

I just purchased the Yokohama Geolandars A/T-S 275/55R20 for my winter wheels.
Great tire for the price!

I just had to buy new tires while away from home on a trip. Had a blow out from a road hazard and needed all four replaced. Had no choice but to get Yokohama Geolandar GO55. With a discount from dealer and a rebate it was $740 for four. I've put a few thousand mile on them towing a 6,600lb Airstream. I'm very pleased with them. Looks like they will be good in the snow.

I have been rolling with General Grabber UHP 275-55-20 for about 1000 miles.
Love them so far.
They have specific thread for water and bad conditions.
Picked them up for about $600 including taxes and install.

How do Grabbers compare to Forteras ?
I'm always a fan of buying expensive tires, for quieter ride, long tread life. I love the goodyear comfortreads, but don't think they make that for an R/T.

Default Tires

I purchased Pirelli Scorpions they are suppose to be a real good tire. I've only had them 2 weeks and have over 500 miles on them. They handle goo in the rain, however I hope they handle the ice and snow like they a rated to do. I'll keep you updated as winter is approaching.

I'm looking for the quietest riding tire. Looking at the Bridgestone Dueler.
