It's not clear from the TSB write up if the engine start function is effected or only the remote features. I'm not sure on these if the fob is a transponder that is energized by the vehicle or an active system that requires the battery. Since the technician check only involves trying the lock, unlock and remote start features, I'm not so sure the vehicle would fail to start using the button on the dash.

From the TSB:
3. Did the key FOB door lock/unlock and remote start functions become functional again? a. YES >>> Continue with the Repair Procedure. b. NO >>> This bulletin does not apply. Further diagnosis is required.

my car doesn't have a remote starter. That shouldnt matter, correct?
