Another Towing Question
#11
I don't see a weight distributing hitch incorporated here, unless I missed it. It is useful to take the rig to a scales as well.
From my actual experience I can tell you that my Citadel, with a full tank of gas, two people, two dogs, a bicycle and a kayak on the roof can haul a 6,600 lb trailer (loaded with water and all our stuff) using a weight distributing hitch. The Citadel rides with the front and rear at the exact same height as it does when unloaded. And the scales show that each axle is within its limits.
BTW I've towed this across the country and will do it again this year. So I'm not just towing in the flat lands, I've done mountain passes too. It works.
