-hand tools
-couple friends is nice.
-Cutting wheel for frame horns and frame brackets.

also, ONLY DO ONE SIDE AT A TIME. this will save you tons of time youd spend lining up, redoing, etc. Loosen one side, unbolt other, repeat, tighten.
i don't have access to a welder are the bed spacers necessary?

It's my understanding that the weld is not necessary but the bed spacers definitely are if you want it to look right. (Or else you bed will be inches lower than your body...

^^

Doesnt know what hes talking about.

The welding they speak of is the flex protectors that go between the frame and the bed itself. it doesnt lift the bed at all, it just keeps the bed from sinking in the center if loaded. The actual bed spacers are on the four corners of the bed. These are in the center.

I never welded mine in, i just slid them in place, and they were snug enough never to rattle out.. and i used mine as a truck quite a bit.

most people that use a body lift arent gonna be hauling 2 tons of brick in their beds, but still. welding isnt required, nor is the fuel filler extension, or the steering stem extension. Theyre recommended, but youre not gonna die if you dont. ive installed several bls and ive never done any of them.

So to answer your question, no, you dont "need" a welder, you can just snug them in and youll be fine. next time youre at a muffler shop have them tack em in for $10 if youre really worried. Theyre in plain sight if you dont have gap guards so itd be a 10 second job.

btw, my old truck is for sale again if anyone wants it.

Default New dodge owner here

I want to do a lift on my 02 QC. I have been reading on this site about the
3 in pa body lift .. I was just wondering if I went to the 5 in PA body lift
in the future could I still run a suspension Lift with no issues ? for instants a rough county or a skyjacker or fab-tech ?? The reason I ask is The standard 3 in is around 400.00 the 5 in is around 540.00 so my thought is if I can get an extra 2 inches for 150.00 dollars why not ? Please advise

They don 't even make a 5 in Body lift... I was referring to the
5 in lift that PA makes .. 3in body 2 in front spacers .. (my bad for (misswording)

anyhow I got it all figured out now .. and to answer my own question
for a future install of a suspension lift .. Yes the spacers would have to be removed. so it would not be advantageous to spend the extra money if they are going to be removed.

For those that have done the 3 in. PA BL, does the front end still sit lower than the back? If so is it possible to install a leveling kit after the BL? Thanks!

ive had this bl in my room for 3 weeks now and i went into the only thinkable place who would install it (performance truck accescories) and they gave me a big fat no on installing it. Im not very mechanically informed so I have fear of delving into this project. Can I try and see if a dealership will do this?

I have an 05 ram 1500 Laramie .... I was told by the local off road shop that because my year/model ram is equipped with torsion bars that installing new torsion bar keys even to just level the front would screw up the way it drives and would cause me tire wear problems..... any truth to that?
