Default 06-08 Hemi + double towing ?'s

I'm in the market for a 06-08 Hemi 4x4 shortbox, auto. I have a few picked out. I have a 27' Travel trailer. Fully loaded is approx 4500lbs. Im looking to purchase a boat as well and double pull bumper to bumper. It is legal in Montana. However can the Hemi handle this? Can the tires? Any mods that I should do? The trailer has a equalizer hitch. Thanks guys

The Hemi will do it (in at least a 2500). A 1500 will tow about 7,200# max. However, I don't think I'd try it. A CTD is much better suited to this. I think a 3500 is a better match, too.

I've done this in older (meaning trucks that are less valuable to me), but my Ram is my baby, it was left to me by my Mom, and she looked after it like it was gold - I try to do the same, so I wouldn't.

That being said, I tow a 24' 5th wheel, it grosses at about 7600 pounds (tare is 6100).

Thanks for the welcoming,
I've read several different numbers as far as capacity for towing. I've seen as high as 9200lbs for the Hemi. I currently have a 05 Cummins, its just so damn expensive . If I do attempt this, Im not worried about my mpg but I am worried about the transmission. What kind of auto transmission do these come with? I would also purchase a superchip, highflow air, and open up that exhaust. I would probably also install a set of air bags and possibly an additional transmission cooler.

So if the capacity is 9200lbs, I would probably be close to 7500 range. Are you guys saying you wouldn't do to the fact that its bumper to bumper or saying no because the truck/transmission won't hold up?

I would not put that kinda weight on my power train, my drive train, my brake system or my differentials. No way. Not me.

You might do better to keep the cummins, invest the money you'de spend buying a new truck, and beef this tranny, and chip the cummins.

Hard to go wrong with that combination, just give it a little upgrade, and change out the worn parts

How heavy is your boat. Most bumper pull trailer are not designed to handle much weight being towed behind. A 5th wheel would probably handle it better but most of them are heavier to begin with but with a diesel you could handle a 8,000lb 5th followed by a 3,000lb boat, but I hope you are not planning on going up/down the mountains with that combo.

I dont have a boat yet lol, but I wouldnt buy a huge one. Id stay under 3000lbs. There isn't any mountains to the lake. Pretty much all highway. there is 1 hill but its not that steep/long. The rear of the trailer will be beefed up with a new bumper and hitch welded on.
