Default Power Struggle

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7
It has 155,000 miles on it
I have a intake with bigger throttle body and a muffler on it.

So when i am driving it with my trailer loaded with 4 dirt bikes on it my truck really struggles with power going. So what can i do to help my truck not struggle pulling a the trailer with my dirt bikes.
The trailer is only a 7x8 single axle

Thanks
Kevin

That Hemi is making close to 350 HP and 375 TQ stock. Shouldn't have any issue pulling what you are pulling. I pulled a 7700 lb. tractor with my old '04 Hemi with the added burden of 35" wheels with no problem. But, and this is a big but, I had the mechanical advantage of 4.56 gearing.

I'm thinking either A) there is an issue with the truck or more likely B) it's under geared. Is this truck 4x2 or 4x4? Regular Cab or Quad Cab? Factory tow package? and most importantly for towing, what is the gear ratio of the rear end???

There is no "stock" gear ratio. Available options were 3.21, 3.55 & 3.92. 3.21s would absolutely suck for towing/hauling, 3.55s would be a little better, 3.92 would be decent WITH stock size tires but not too good with tires over 33" for towing.

So I think the first thing would be to determine what gears you have. Regearing will make up for a lot of power when towing/hauling.

If your towing is that bad it's gonna take more than a few HP upgrades to make a noticeable difference. However, long tube headers, CAI, free exhaust ditching that crazy restrictive factory Y pipe and a tuner would net you roughly 35-40 HP at the crank of which 20-25 would make it to the rear wheels.
