Default MOPAR Tow harness 82207253 questions

Happy New Year Everyone...

I have just installed a tow package for my Dodge Ram. The installation of the hitch and wiring harness could not have been any easier. The only thing that cause some worry was using the wire to drop the bolt and doubler through the backend tube to connect the hitch. You loose the connection between the wire guide and the bolt and your SOL.

My questions concerning the wire harness..

1. What is the significance of splicing the wire into the left-rear tail light white/light green wire?

2. What is the significance of the blue wire that they have you feed into the cab from the engine compartment? They have you just blundle it up and zip tie secure it. It did not splice or connect with anything.

Pics of the installation later.....

I think the blue wire is for an electric brake controller, anyone know for sure?

i get the connection to the positive terminal of the battery and to connecting the male/female four-pin sockets but what does the white/light green splice control and the blue wire?

While there is a saying "a pic is worth a thousand words" it would be nice to see the four pages of illustrations having some descriptions as to "why" reasons for things.

Question If my Dodge came with the tow package..........

Question: There is talk elsewhere on this forum about the blue wire, or the blue harness somewhere under the dash. Well I have the factory tow harness, 4 pin and 7 pin connectors. Now should'nt I already have the brake controller sub harness (the blue harness) wired in from the factory? If so, I can't locate it under the dash....... link:

Default Blue Wire?

Ok, I am also still at a loss why I had to run the Blue wire through the fire wall, roll it up and zip tie it out of the way next to the factory blue tow harness plug under the dash. What is the blue wire for?

I recently purchased my 2008 Ram. It has a factory tow package. I had a Tekonsha 90195 P3 Electronic Brake Control from my old Dakota. This controller came with the necessary moulded plug to plug into the factory outlet WAY UP under the dash. It was located above the brake pedal. It simply plugs in and the other end plugs into your control module. THAT's IT! Yer done! Well ... That is if you have the factory outlets on the back of your truck. Mine has both the round RV type 7-pin for brakes and battery power and the 4-pin (or is it 5) flat plug for utility trailers without brakes.

Yep, My 08 has the factory tow package. I bought the $14 harness from the dealer that plugged in under the dash, then wired my controller into that. Piece of cake.
The extra wire mentioned above may be for the 12V key-on terminal on the 7 pin plug which I use to charge the winch battery on my trailer.

Do all 2007 Ram QC's have the blue brake controller plug under the drivers side dash by the E-brake? I have looked all over and under the carpet for it with no luck. Does anyone have a good picture of where that blue pigtail comes from / goes to?
