don't go to dealer.

go to a locksmith place...not like home depot or a local hardware place, but a place that just does keys locks. typically they're cheaper. i've had to get copies of my maxima's keys on multiple occasion. and they're liek $140 at the dealer, but this korean guy in town did it for like $45....y'know, the keys with the computer chip thing in it.

You're not losing this capability because you never had that capability. The remote starter system isn't the part in the system that provides this, the sentry key from Dodge does, even for the remote starter.
