My 2003 dodge1500 truck's security system has locked down my truck.
i was in the grocery store...came out, unlocked my doors with the remote, then was trying to start my truck when the red security light in the instrument panel started flashing and it wouldn't start. I can't get it to start, or reset.
Anybody heard of this or know how to reset it? Is there a reset switch or is it something i have to get done at a dealership. thanks

 

Take the black end of the battery off. Thats all I can think of.

 

Try your spare key...otherwise you'll have to bypass it which requires cutting a wire to get the ohm reading and then putting a resistor in-line.

 

Did someone try to start your truck without the key? The newer Dodge's havea Sentry Key, and the way the security systemis set up if someone tries to steal the vehicle and they don't have the key, itdisables the ignition. And I think I read somewhere that after you have to bring it to the dealer to reset the computer, otherwise it will not start, even if you use the correct key.
