Does anyone have a front axle assembly diagram for a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4? I'm trying to replace the plastic cup looking piece that goes between the inner and outer axles on the passenger side but, don't know what it is called. Thanx gang.

 

Im sure parts service has that somewhere in his magical computer.

 

hey ya know, i got access to this stuff too ya know lol.....i believe the part your refering to is the "Axle shift collar"....part number is 477 8548 and is item 5 in the diagram

I would have thought that would be a 2nd Gen section question, but hemiyellow to the rescue...

 

Thanx Hemi. I think the part is number 4 in the diagram. It goes into the one axle as a female cup and accepts the male end from the other axle.

 

number 4 is a bushing for the intermediate shaft..part number 525 2686
