Default TUNE UP COSTS?

Got a question for those of you in the know, because i've seen that things have changed over the years.....What is the average cost of a tune up? And what exactly does a tune up consist of?

not all that much really. spark plugs, wires, maybe coolant and trans if you are due. check a bunch of stuff. grease ball joints, check belts, hoses, maybe diff and transfer case fluids. don't know what the cost would be, but it will vary with how much you're getting/need done. the plugs and wires alone will run you over a hundred if you got them done somewhere.

Plugs are absolutely horrible. 16 when you count the packs, +3hours of labor. nearly broke the bank on my last tune up.

just realized i got a coupon from local dealer for spark plugs, I think it was $100 or 109 installed. add on a set of wires (no added labor since they pull them anyway) and I figure $160-180 or so for everything with all mopar stuff. This is the dealer, mind you. It can be done much cheaper if you go to the right place, like your garage, driveway, or street in front of your residence.

I just stumbled upon this site: repairpal.com it seems fairly accurate at estimating repair/maintenance costs

yeah mine has 90,000. I think the cost had mostly to do with the packs on top of the plugs...
