Some mods to my new Ram...
I headed on over to Line X on Broadway to get this baby sprayed in. After some research between Rhino and Line X, and seeing both in trucks a few years old, the Line X was the easy choice. Both look good new, but the Line X holds up much better after a few years. The Rhino liners I saw looked pretty weathered after a few seasons.
My shiny new bed:
Taping:
Sanding, yikes!
Spraying:
The end result:
After the liner, I had some lunch then drove over to Bud's Mufflers and had this baby welded in. It was a really tough choice between the Flowmaster 50 Series and the Magnaflow, but from what I was told and what I read / heard, the Flowmaster can cause a pretty bad drone in the cab in Dodge trucks. Also, there was a lot of opinion about flow rates. I love Flowmasters, and have run them in 3 of my prior Jeeps and my Saab, so it was tough to go with the Magnaflow, but now I'm glad I did. It sounds great, although it doesn't quite have that Flowmaster sound. As far as mileage and power, we'll have to see, too few miles on the truck at this time to tell.
If Denver's PD choose Bud's for their exhaust issues, I'm confident in them as well. This Crown Vic must've gone over some curbs or something, everything underneath was scraped very badly or torn off:
Wussy stock exhaust (still sounded great though):
From the front looking back:
From the back looking front:
Hell yeah...
I was very tempted to just drive around like this for a while...
Fitting and welding:
The end result:
Being as how my truck is so new, the factory exhaust system was in great shape. On top of which, the shop told me the quality of the pipes were excellent, and the bends were all mandrel bent, so to save me some money, they reused some of the old tubing. They basically said they could bend me up new tubes, but they couldn't really improve much on what I already had. So we reused some of the factory tubing:
Now, my bed's protected and my truck sounds great!

Another quick question. Another guy was there in his 08 Quad Cab but he had the 17 inch wheels. I have the 20's. He wanted to trade plus cash. Both my truck and his truck have less than 4000 miles on them. How much cash should I ask for?
I'm thinking I could give him my 20's for his 17's plus about $500. Is that fair?

Looks great man!
How are you getting damage on your spare...is the pipe touching your tire?
As for the wheels and tires ,that sounds pretty fair but you'll want your pcm reflashed to keep your speedo accurate. I'm sure the dealer will charge you an hours rate for that. The good news is you'll have less unsprung weight which will help with acceleration...the ride might not be as smooth though.
