Default Same problem here.

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram with a 5.7 Hemi. the other day i was driving and it started to tremble and finally it stalled. Now when I try to start it sputters and and stalls. I was thinking maybe my Fuel Pump , what do you guys think?

Could be, but there are easier things to do first: Plugs, throttle body, air filter, PCV valve. A dose of Sea Foam might help, too. Do you run it down to fumes a lot?

Not really, I recently changed the plugs but could'nt get to the last four due to the master cylinder. I have an o2 code and and a evap code as well.

Neither of those points to the fuel pump. Heat is its biggest enemy. An evap issue or O2 issue could make it run bad, I would suspect.

I would start with the 4 overdue plugs.

It probably doesn't help that there is no muffler , catalatyc converter still on it though with straight pipe.

Do a compression check. I had the same sounding problem last year. It ended up being a broken valve spring.

Default Same prob: 5.7 misfire/sputter/stall

Hi, I am having this same problem. Have someone coming in the morning to try and diagnose. Will keep the forum informed. Has anyone found resolution to this problem yet? Seems to be common

P.S. could this be a valve spring

Well, only code today was engine collar check.... low on coolant so that was a given. Removed air box, intake is dirty inside like it was spitting back out. Spark plugs wet n gassy. Cleaned PCM connections. There's a "clicking" when it's trying to idle, really rough coming from driver side, front engine. Thinking timing may be thrown off..... does this sound like something that would make all this misfire and sputter? Thinking to start there and then move on to valve seats.. someone mentioned they may drop/break. Used digital scope to look inside cylinder and seemed clean.... any ideas on all that mess? Thanks in advance for any help
