Installing shocks????????
#21
Thanks
I've taken a step back and regrouped. I ordered the special bushings and sleeves I need to make it right, then I'll suck the bolt down tight on the shock the way its supposed to be....and a little threadlocker.
...Well, now I know....I don't put shocks on every day.
So if anyone is getting those BE5-6140-T5 shocks that are a couple inches longer, get the bushings (98108G) and sleeves (423730).
My next truck will either come leveled from the factory or have a kit, I know that much.

I would also like to get some input from some of you that have installed new shocks. I've got a 2 wheel drive QC with just over 80K on it. About a year ago, we moved into a new house requiring about a 35 minute drive to work. Some of the roads I have to drive to work on are kinda crappy, but my Ram really seems to be riding rough. I would not hesitate to change out the shocks if I knew it would help. Those of you out there that have recently changed shocks, how much of a difference in ride have you noticed?

Who cares if it's X years old. Good stuff posted here.
i'm needing new shocks all around as well. Watch three Youtube vids. It looks easy really. Up front though, the battery and tray must come out on the drivers side and the air-intake box on the passenger side comes out.
The pros about getting the newer bushing hardware and cup washers is the ride and handling improvements. The worn stuff would work, but why save about $10 and deal with noise and chatter too?
