Installing shocks????????

Installing shocks????????
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quadcab 4x4 and was wondering how hard it is to replace those shocks. I've called around here and there, and it will cost anywhere from $65-$118 shop labor to install bilsteins all around. My truck just rolled over 90,000 miles, so I want to do some preventive maintance and replace the shocks. Should I try to attempt this myself? Any input would be helpful......

shouldnt be too hard. shock replacement is usually pretty straight foward, all you should need tool wise is a socket set and some wrenches. very simple if you are mechanicaly inclined. might wanna hit the bolts with some pb blaster before you start just to make sure they break loose in case they are siezed up.

there really isnt anything you can mess up unless you dont tighten the bolts down. shouldnt take more than 30min at most for all 4 shocks.

just did bilsteins on all 4 corners couple weekends ago on my truck. dont pay someone to do it. its too easy to do on your own. i did all 4 shocks by myself in 45 min to an hour. and that includes having a couple too many beers in the process. all you need is a crescent wrench, basic socket set, and an extension.
on another note... the Bilsteins are AWESOME! night and day difference compared to the stock shocks. really smoothed out the ride on my 2500.
