Default Chunks in manual transmission

Have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 with the NV3500 manual transmission. Was changing fluids and found chunks on the magnetic plug in the transmission and curious how long anyone thinks the transmission will last now that it seems to be stripping a gear somewhere.

How big? A few is not uncommon. If it's truly starting to fail, nobody can tell you how long it will last. Ten minutes or ten years.

I took it to a lube place because I'm lazy and the chunks I saw one was a little smaller than a dime and the rest were much smaller. Feels like third gear when shifting. It grinds when going to third at times
