Default rear axle fluid change

I had to get my oil changed today at autoway lincoln cause autoway dodge was outta business and they kindly did an inspection as well and they said my rear axle fluid needs to be changed is that an easy job to do because they want 150 bucks for it and i might as well try it myself

it's real easy. take off the differential cover, and it's gonna drip everywhere...so have a big bucket or wide funnel or something.

crack 'em loose, let it drip, and loosen them more and more. but some axle fluid (not sure what exactly...but it's something simple). I used rubber silicone to seal it back up, or u can go out and buy a new gasket.

when u fill, the fluid level should be just at the bottom of the fluid check hole (the rubber bung in the diff cover)

Be sure to check the magnet for metal shavings. It should have a few but no really big ones.

Ok, I'm still far off of my differential fluid change with only 23k on mine.
