Default Error Codes

Does anyone know the error codes for the computer for the Dodge Ram pickup. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.9L, Quad Cab.

I am getting a error code P1491 which is something with the emissions but I am not quite sure. I used my friends Code scanner to find it and he erqased the code but it came back on.

Please help if you know anything that can help me.

Default RE: Error Codes

I found it as:

Open or shorted condition detected in the radiator fan control relay control circuit.

I'd replace that relay. Do you have an electric fan on that truck?

I may posted the wrong Code. I have it written down in the truck. The code scanner said something about emissions when it read the code.

Where can I find a list of the codes.

BTW Nice Truck Amanda.

Hi Backdraft.

Here's the site I use for OBD-II trouble codes:

Thanks. I will find exactly what the code is and may be picking your brains to fix the problem.

I fixed the problem. It was apparently a loose relay. All I did was make sure all the fuses and relays in the power box were pushed down.

Default Error Code 1491

2000 Dodge Durango 5.2L, 103K miles, malfunction indicator light on, diagnostic code P1491. Looking at the threads and error code web link indicates a Radiator Fan Control Relay, which I do not have one in my fuse box (no one took it). ideas??

Default RE: Error Code 1491

Error code P1491 is a fuse for condenser fan. Replace fuse and after 5 cold starts it will clear the code or take off neg battery cable for a few min. to clear

Good luck
