Default from stock 20's to aftermarket 17's with 35's

ok im looking into getting a set of 17's for my 05 ram 1500 caus tires are way cheaper. im lookin at getting a set of kumho road venture MT (KL71) tires in 35 inch and i dont wanna run the wheel spacers so what i need to know is what kinda spec's do i need for rim size i know 17x9 atleast with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern i jest need to the rim offset and back space thanks

I believe you have to have a wheel with 4.5" of backspacing. Don't know about offset.

wouldnt the backspace be more than stock since ppl use a 1" spacer on there stock rims?

Need to know whether the truck is a 4x2 or 4x4 and the year (torsion bar front or coil over) to give a proper answer...

its a 05 4x4 with the torsion bar

you need a wheel with 4.5" backspacing. Most of the 17's will come with that.

isnt the stock wheel a 4.5 backspace with a +20 offset

You have a bit more clearance room than the coil over fronts (width wise), with a minimum of 2" of lift, you'll only require a 17x9 wheel with 4.5" of backspacing and a negative offset to clear.
Keep in mind though, for any decent wheel travel, you'd really want at least 3" of lift...

im jest gonna go with the 2" lift caus i do alot of hunting and i dont wanna have to use a forklift to get a deer/moose in the back of it. what would be the offset range im going to the rim shop today to order a set

any negative offset should clear, -6mm. -12mm., etc...
