The fuel varies a lot I have noticed and even my 4.7l was very "sensitive" to different fuel, but I don't think that's what the tick is, cause first off, you're supposed to use 89 or higher in HEMIs and I don't know what people do, but the tick is there
I have 7 2012 rams sitting right now from 3k miles to 25k miles on them. Medium to premium grade makes the tick go away. Low grade fuel and its there.

Huh. RAM fleet recommends 87.
Maybe they lied to get a 3500 sale. But you figure about 20 gallons per day average on 3500k vehicles (assuming not all fill up daily. Some twice in a day). That equals 70,000 gallons a day.
Say gas is $4 a gallon for 87. That's $280,000 a day in fuel. If you went with mid grade at 4.15 a gallon that's $290,500 a day. Difference of 10,500 a day.
Times that by 5 days then by say 45 weeks a year. You spend about an extra $2.3 million dollars a year to run 89 (mid) grade
That's interesting. Manual states 89 and 87 as acceptable
I would personally never use 87 in mine, unless there was no other way. What you said, though...makes sense with the numbers.
But I don't pay the bill so I can't complain too much. I just think for a public image at least have a vehicle that doesn't sound like it's broken right off the delivery truck from the manufacture
