4.7 EGR Valve replacement questions
Hey I finally got a replacement EGR Valve after 2 months, I have a 2005 4.7 and I went to put it on but looking at the front of my engine for the old one it's not there at least not in the same area as the Napa guy showed me on his computer.
Are they in different locations for different years?? I know I need to get a manuel, but haven't yet so I wanted to wing it and replace it.
Anyone got a picture where theirs is on their 4.7, I'd really appreciate it??
Thanks, H-

Its in the drivers side right behind the intake. It is a little difficult to get to and is not one of my favorite egr valves to replace.

Just replaced mine on my 4.7, took it to my mechanic and had him look it over, it was on the back side of the engine between it and the driverside firewall. (WTH) took about 30 minutes of him fiddling with not being able to see it, good to go now. He did mention that the new Ethanol fuel actually hurts the mpg and messes up the EGR valve

Yeah, they are a pain in the ***. I think the one I did was on a durango though and there was even less clearance to get to it. I ended up laying on the engine with my feet on my roll cart and my arm shoved up in there.

This one is easy. It's on the front of the head on the passenger side. Right in front, looks like a small can (GM style valve).
