Default po138 to po141 problem

on my 03 ram with the hemi i had had the code read out po138 only so i ordered up a new o2 sensor and put it in. the truck drove fine but after about 50miles the check engine light came on so i hooked up my reader to it and now it only says po141. i thought a new sensor would fix the problem but now with the new sensor im reading a different code with the same sensor. any ideas?

P0141 Is a 02 heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2. Sounds like its just a faulty sensor. I would take it back and get a new one if the sensor is still under warranty.

Bad thing about buying replacement parts that are electronic is they are yours once you replace them. But if it has a warranty then you should be good to go. If you add the new one on and still get a code after you reset the PCM then you know you have other issues.

thx the sensor is only 2days old so it shold still be under waranty. well the sensor was a little diferent compared to the factory sensor in that the cable was shorter and the sensor reader that actauly stuck into the the exhaust was a little different, dont no if that was because it was a different brand or the wrong sensor but it plugged in all the same and i noticed a fuel economy boost until the new code showed

After market may look different than OEM. That is normal. But swap them out and see what you get and go from there if needed.
