How do I install tire chains on a 1500
How do Install tire chains on the front tires on my new 2008 1500????
The clearence between the tire and the supprt bar is only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch (behind the tire).
Can't belive I bought a truck I can't even put chains on for winter!
The 2500 and 3500 trucks would be ok (they don't have the clearence problem)
I'm sure some one has an answer to this.
Is there a different rim I can buy?
Why would Dodge do something like this???

Tire Chains for 1500
How do I install tire chains on the front of a 1500 dodge truck?
The support arm on the back of the tire is about1/2-3/4" away from the tire and chains would not clear.
Is there a different rim or spacer?
Some one must have an answer. 2500 don't have this clearence problem.
Thanks Billy

I have the same problem. Excuse my rant but dodge needs to hear it because of the stupid design. They market the truck as a rugged work truck but you can't use tire chains on the front. Come on!! I guess not many people go off pavement any more. I also love the suggestion on other forums about only using them on the back or wondering why you would need them on all 4 tires. These people have obviously never been off the black to either. I have on numerous occasions needed chains on all 4 tire and would have put on on the steering wheel if i thought it would have helped. I have used a very thin set of chains of the front end of my 2008 1500 but these chains do not have the grip needed and it is very disappointing I have to use them. If you come up with a solution please let me know. Otherwise I guess my next truck will be a ford.
