Default Rear axle seals 2500 Ram.

Is the 06 ram 2500 axle semi floating, or a free floating axle?

Now, I'm confused as to how free floating axle is constructed, ie attatched to the ring and pinon, and if the hub holds everything togethier.

Im thinking along the the lines of a 1500 axle where booth axle shafts are connected to the ring and pion, to replace one axle seal, you have to pull booth axle shafts.

I have been told you can pull out the axle shaft that needs the seal and leave the othier rear axle shaft in place.

If the axle shaft floats inside the ring and pion, what holds every thing togethier?

Its full floating, bolted on from the outer end (under the wheel center-cap).
