Default 2007 Ram 1500 ABS sensor

Hi guys,
I wanted to change my abs sensor on my 2007 Ram 1500. So i called and order one but on my surprise when i received it, it doesn't fit. So i made a little research and my abs sensor looks like the 2006 Ram 1500.. So my question is, is it normal or i've been fool buying that 2007 Ram with a 2006 rear axle?

on the VIN sticker in the door, there should be a MM/YY build date in the corner. Its possible you have an early 07 model, and theres a chance some of the remaining 06 parts could have carried over.

If the sensor you need is the exact same as an 06, just get that one. Its just a hall effect switch, they all run a 5V reference, as long as its externally the same and has the same connector it will work.

Ok thanx!
I will go check the VIN sticker. And when you say early '07 model, what will be the MM/YY around?

That does make it an early model but it's still an 07. The dealer has done nothing wrong. Most models start in late August to September of the year prior. As long as the 10this digit of your vin number is 7 then they sold you a 2007 truck as a 2007. Now if your vin number says 6 then you have a problem.

Thanks for the info!
I will check my 10th digit vin number to see if it's a 7.
I order a '06 sensor and I hope it will clear my ABS light, BRAKE light and that I will know how fast i'm going. I will let you know.
Thanks again!

Disconnect the battery for a while after you install the sensor, it will clear the codes so the light won't come back on.

Good! My 10th digit is a 7. I will receive my sensor in 2 days. Should I disconnect the battery now and reconnect in 2 days after the sensor's installtion? Will it be enough time to reset?

30 minutes is enough time. Best way to do it would be to just disconnect it when you start working on changing them, then connect it after.
