on my 05 my outside rear cab light only comes on if i switch it on from inside. i though if you open the door it should come on? I've rotated the dimmer switch and still wont work unless i turn the dimmer switch up until it comes on.. maybe it doesn't suppose to come on when opening the door?

 

It should come on when you unlock your door if your truck has factory key-less entry. If you do have key-less entry and it doesn't do it then I think you will have to do some kind of procedure to change the truck's settings

 

I've never noticed if mine comes on when I open the door or not. Mine does come on, though, if it's locked and I unlock it with the keyfob.

 

I dont have keyless entry,the only time it comes on is if i manually do it..

anyone else have any info on what i can do??

 

Mine is the same as 04HemiGreg. It won't come on when I open the door, but it does come on if I lock or unlock with keyless entry.

 

Not sure if it changed 2004. L side lights when open D/S door. R side lights when Passanger door opens. Both sides light up when I hit keyless entry. Hope this helps.
