I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck. The blower motor works on high but on no other setting. Could this be a blower motor resistor gone bad? If so where is it located?
Yea it is the blower motor resistor. The same thing happened to my 01 Dakota. I don't know where its located but if your truck is still under warranty you could take it back to the dealership and they'll take care of it for you.
Sounds like the resistor to me as well. You can use a test lamp to check it. Just have someone there to move the selector in the cab, and probe the individual speed circuits. A different one should become hot for each speed. Voltage will also be varied.
Edit - It is located, and accessible on the bottom of the HVAC unit on the assenger side of the vehicle.
i wouldnt worry awhole lot with testing it, i mean it dont cost but like $15, and it's prolly 99% gurantee that it the blowermotors resistor, i replaced alot of these workin at the dealership, but never one on a 3rd gen ram
