Default 2004 Ram 1500 5.7L Oil pressure

My oil pressure gauge as of late has been acting up. It'll bounce around from saying I have no pressure to saying its running normal to only going down part way and coming back up. Could just be the sending unit but not 100% sure has anyone else had a similar problem? And if so what was the solution?

Sending unit, could be your issue. They are cheap to replace. I would also recommend, putting a direct reading gauge on it.

I had issues with my oil pressure sending unit on my 2004 Ram 1500 5.7. With mine the needle stayed at 0 when I started my truck. If I turned the truck off/on then it would read normal. It started happening more and more especially on cold mornings.

Solution: replaced the oil pressure sending unit and I've had no issues since
