Hey all, just curious. I have an 04 with (manual 4x4) on the floor. IS there supposed to be a 4x4 indicator light on the cluster. When I put it in to 4x4 I know its in but there is no indicator light. Not a big deal but ust curious if there is supposed to be a light or not. Thanks.

 

my 03 does. just below the odometer.

 

i think there is, mine and a couple others have posted where they go out and you need a censor. I recall they said it was 40 dollars or someplace around there.

 

Yep there is one. Mine was working but flickered one day and stopped working.

 

My 03 4x4 QC Hemi has a 4x4 indicator light that comes on when 4wd is engaged, in either hi/lo ratio's.
Does this light come on when the light cluster does it's checks?
If it does, then at least you know that your cluster light is OK.
I believe there is a switch that can be changed out in the transfer case.
I've seen postings of where it's located and how to do it, on this forum.
A search might help you.

Ya I tried doing a search but the search on this site is garbage.. Can't find n e thing...

There is no 4x4 light that comes on when my cluster does it's check. I tried looking at the cluster with a flashlight to see of I could find n e thing.. The only 4x4 indicator I see is "sevice 4wd" and that is under the rpm gauge... I don't see n e thing else relating to 4x4.. I dunno..

 

Weed has in his signature link to the owner's manual. Here is quote from it:
"23. SERV 4WD Indicator
The 4WD indicator will be illuminated whenever the
4WD mode is engaged for either the manual or electric
shift 4WD systems. The SERV 4WD indicator monitors
the electric shift 4WD system. If the SERV 4WD light
stays on or comes on during driving, it means that the
4WD system is not functioning properly and that service
is required."

Yah, my 03's got one but the darn thing works backwards. It shows I'm in 4we when I know I've got it shifted to 2wd or neutral and goes out in either 4 hi or low. It all seems to work, just the indicator is backwards.
