Rough country 3in lift with stock wheels?
alright been searching and searching and cant find the answer. I just picked up my first ram its a 03 ram 1500 slt 2wd 4.6l all stock and im looking to lift/level it but not looking to spend too much money with my second kid on the way. truck is used for dd and occasional trail riding but nothing rough just some fun.
my question is I want the rough country 3in suspension lift for my truck and want to keep stock wheels for now will this work? on the rough country page it says you need atleast 4.5 backspacing to fit. I think I read the stock 17s are 4.75 backspacing. just curious if it will still work or if anyone has done this. figured maybe its just a recommendation from them but not necessary.
thanks in advance.

Not that it matters, but Dodge doesn't make a 4.6. As far as the stock wheels are concerned the backspacing is for the bigger tires that people put on after they get the lift. I don't think the stock wheels have a 4.75 backspacing either, it's probably more like 6.25 which is which they tuck inside the fender. Stock wheels and stock tires are ok, stock wheels and bigger tires are going to require a different wheel.
On the lift you are running, is it just coils or are you replacing the upper A-arms too, if so then you will likely need a different wheel all together. If it's just coils then you will be ok.
