Default No High Beam on driver side

I recently try to hook up some off road lights on my 2006 ram 1500. I tied the lights into the high beam wire on the headlight bulb on the driver side. When I connected my off road lights there was a spark and now the high beam on my driver side doesn't work. The low beam works perfect. I changed out the bulb but still no high beam. Is there a fuse or have a fried something. I read somewhere that if I unhook the positive cable on the battery then the computer module will reset itself. Any ideas.

The driver for that high beam probably shut down. You may be able to fix it by doing a reset. Do a battery disconnect for about 30-60 minutes.

Live and learn. Always try to run an independent circuit when you do add-ons like that.

Yeah. Sounds like a TIPM failure

Default No Hi beam Head Light

I have no hi beam headlight on my drivers side. I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 and I am being told its the ITPM. What exactly is this and where is it located. I think they are referring to the fuse box under the hood. When I check I don't see any fuse there for the headlights. There is a module separate from the fuse box that has wires from the headlights going into it. I think it has 3 or maybe 4 plugs going into it. Would this be the module they are talking about. Also can I just splice wire from the other headlight and run power to the driver side hi beam from the passenger side headlight.

tipm is the fuse box itself and with 2006 and later it is touchy with any light mods pulling current from it. it may have to be replaced.
