Just make sure you have the headlight switch w/ fog light option otherwise all of the programming changes won't help you with anything...

I only meant that it must be programmed already as an export (because the high beams don't shut the foglights off). And it was already programmed, for whatever reason....

It's not a workaround, just luck. Based on what I've read, it appears to be a crap shoot whether it is already set up or not.

You mean fog lights right?

If you Burn both the Low and High beams in the OEM Dual Filament Bulbs you're bound to start melting the plastic housing... and burn out bulbs pretty frequently...

Adding in a secondary wiriing harness that splices the factory harness will do.
basically, you'll leave your oem fog switch on all the time and control them by your alternate bypassed switch.

What you'll need to do is cut the factory lines before the connectors so you can add Diodes to prevent back feed into the TIPM. Between the diode's and the lights, you place your secondary FUSED battery powered wire harness.
Done. Viola, Fogs on all the damn time.

I thought so...

You can do that with a harness instead of dealing with programming:

I think they call it the "Brite Box" check it out here:

http://www.thebritebox.com/

It's a simple plug and play harness that allows you to keep the fog lights on with the high beams...

I have a 2006 QC 1500 and bought an OEM foglight kit just like this one
http://www.amazon.com/2006-2009-DODGE-LAMPS-LIGHTS-LIGHT/dp/B006QKFY54 http://www.amazon.com/2006-2009-DODGE-LAMPS-LIGHTS-LIGHT/dp/B006QKFY54

There was a connector already behind the front bumper so I just connected it and installed the new OEM switch and foglights worked as expected without needing to goto the dealer.

This is probably because when configured by the dealer they mistakenly chose the Foglight option because they thought it already had them; however, this is typically not the case for the 2006+ years.

If you have a 2005 or older, the dealer is not needed.

Question Fog Light Activation

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7Hemi Megacab that had the factory wiring to the driver-side fog light mount. I installed the fog lights, bought a harness to connect the two lights to the factory plug and replaced the light switch to one that supports fog lights.. Now when I 'push' the fog light **** on the light switch I see the blue fog light indicator on the dash display, but the lights do not turn on. I assume this is to be expected without the dealer 'activating' the fog lights?

How much does a dealership, in general, charge to activate this?

Also, I am running a SuperChips tune on the truck... should I put it back to 'Stock' before asking the dealership to work on the fog light activation?

Thank you for any guidance, in advance.
