Default Stuck in 4x4, blinking light

Need some info/advice from the experts here. 2004 1500 Ram suddenly switched to 4 high without turning the ****, 2high light flashes green, 4 high light yellow. Now it has switched to 4low & is stuck there. Again turning the **** does nothing. Could it be brain problem? Vac leak? something worse? 5.7 with about 240K miles on it. Any ideas?

wow you got an answer , i have a problem with mine as well. mine started when i tried to shift out of 4 lo while moving, at least i think so. when i would turn the **** to 2 hi, while stopped in nuetral, it would start flashing 4x4 hi, but it would not shift out of lo. I had to take the transfer case motor off and use a craftsman universal socket to turn the shaft that the motor is supposed to turn to get it into hi. not sure if it is in 4x4 or not now, i had to leave the motor off and unplugged so now it says service the 4x4. one person on yahoo answers said that the computer would not let it even try to shift out of lo while moving, making me think the computer locked it out, but i have no way of knowing if that is what happened or if i burnt the motor up. And it seems there are no techs on this site that know about electronic transfer cases. or for that matter anywhere. I'm guessing junkyard time for this and never again a dodge even though i have always been a dodge person.

one thing, pull the transfer case fuse, when your truck get stuck in 4x4, means the switch is shot, get an oem switch, for get junk yard stuff, you need to get the correct spline for your transfer case

i meant the truck is getting junked. But really the switch can go bad just like that and it isn't because i accidentally tried to switch it while moving? That's when it started. But yeah i will pull that fuse and look. Although when i tried to switch it the 4x4 lo light went out and the 4x4 hi light would blink, even though i was trying to go to 2 hi. So if the switch is bad would it still do that?

So the switch went bad right at the same moment i accidentally tried to shift from lo to hi by accident when i was moving?
