Default Does any one what what the OBDII protocols are for a 2004 Ram

I just purchased a cheap ODB2 Bluetooth adapter on eBay. Badged as ELM327 which is actually or should be the IC chip manufactured by the Canadian company ELM electronics

We have 5 cars in our family, 2000 VW Jetta TDI, 2004 Infiniti G35, 2004 Nissan 350Z, 2005 Mercedes SLK350 and a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The device works with every car except my truck the Ram. Using Torque Pro and a Mercedes app on android and Iphone

I've further read that Chrysler may not be compatible with the ELM327

Any others had same problem or can anyone confirm what protocol and Kbaud the Ecu operates on

Example
SAE J1850 PWM(41.6Kbaud)
SAE J1850 VPW(10.4Kbaud)

My craftsman plug in scanner works perfect just wanted a fancy Bluetooth one lol

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, my BT ODB module is the ELM327 and it works fine with my Torque app

Straight form the horses mouth ELM electronics

It may be the protocol that the Ram is using. In those days, many Chrysler products used the J1850 VPW protocol while many European and Japanese vehicles used ISO9141-2. We did have several reports of the knock-off chips not supporting J1850 properly, and yours may be another example of this.

Looks like I brought a knock off

Can i ask where you got yours and the price please
