I've been curious bout chips an programmers an stuff lookin to get more power torque an gas mileage maybe.... Is there anything out there for the 4.7s? Thanks in advance bcz I'm new to the computer business haha

Chips are nothing more than a resister that goes inline with the air intake temp sensor. It tricks the PCM into thinking the air temp is lower than actual so it dumps more fuel in to compensate. Like a throttle body spacer, they are worthless. A tuner actually re programs the PCM. You should research the websites for superchips and Diablo to see what all a tuner can do.

Yeah, stay clear of the "chips", as Keats said, they simply fool the PCM into thinking the engine temp is lower, dumping more fuel - plus you could achieve the same thing with an 85 cent resistor from RadioShack.
Tuner is the way to go, Superchips woukd be best bet for an '05 4.7.
Lots of power adders out there for pre 2008 4.7s. Pick up some 4.7 HO parts such as forged crank, bigger injectors, short runner intake manifold, etc. The '02-'04 4.7 HO used primarily in the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland edition produced about 40 more HP and Torque over the standard 4.7 found in the Ram...

As mentioned, these topics have been covered AD NASEUM but, with a tuner, depending on what you get, 'canned tunes' are preloaded. Load it to your truck and go. Downloading tunes to a tuner to load is for custom tuning.
