Default water logged key fobs

Some how I managed to put both my fobs into the clothes washer in the same week. Yes its age related! Dealer wants nearly 400 each. Any better solutions? Mine have remote start plus all the other stuff. It's an 07 Hemi, 4x4, quad cab, Laraime. Help if u can.

Moving to the correct section. Please read the section descriptions so you post in the correct area.

So neither work now? Have you opened them up and tried drying them out?

Yeah, ain't no telling how many times I've gone wade fishing and forgot to take my key fob out my pants or shorts pocket. Disassemble, dry and reassemble. Ain't had one not go back to working yet...

Get some electronics cleaner and spritz the boards with it. Look for corrosion (the battery voltage would cause severe corrosion quickly). Use a pencil eraser on button contacts and the battery contacts. Putting the fobs in rice for a few days will help, too.

OK, they are both working now. Tks for the quick response and help. Now I just have to figure out how to keep them out of the washing machine.

Empty your pockets before taking your clothes off.
