Default Squeaking is driving me nuts - 2003 1500 5.7 Hemi RWD Quadcab

Every pot hole, speed bump, and turn and all I hear is the **** thing squeeking. Mom borrowed the truck today and when she brought it back to me and turned to park it sounded like someone opening up a door to an old abandoned home that hasn't been lived in since the 1800's.

It doesn't seem to do it until the summer time. Doesn't do it when it's raining and wet either.

Any ideas?

Dry bushings. Dry spring packs. Shocks.. could be anything. Get under it have someone cycle the suspension.

How can I test them to know for sure?

I would think if the ball joints are making the noise it will make the noise without the truck moving just turn the wheel left and right. If you can make the noise without the truck moving you will be able to listen for it to pinpoint the noise.

There's not a whole lot greaseable from the factory. Most everything is sealed. If you have to replace them, get some MOOG (or the like) greaseable parts.

For a quick fix, until you drive through rain or drive through a car wash, you could get some white lithium grease and spray into the cracked boots of the ball joints real good. I've done mine, but need to do it again since I won't be installing my new ones until next weekend. Sounds like the guest bed in Granny's house!
