Help, before I throw a match on it! 2004 Hemi
The weirdest thing happened yesterday. Was driving through a field in the quad cab 5.7 hemi, truck was running fine and has ran fine for the last 50K+ miles flawlessly. After going through 4 deep ruts, I parked the truck and shut it off. Got back in and tried to crank it and it wouldn't fire up, at all. I have 1/2 tank of gas in it. The only code was a P0441 (Evap Expansion Control System Incorrect Purge). What is that? After attempting to crank it for 2-3 more minutes, the code went away lol.
Anyone else experience this? What is the Evap Expansion control?

P0441 Description
The Engine Control Module (ECM) tests the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system for the following conditions:
- Large and small leaks
- Excess vacuum
- Purge flow during non-commanded conditions
- Fuel Level and Fuel Pressure sensor faults
- EVAP Purge and Vent Valve faults
The ECM monitors the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor in order to determine the level of vacuum/pressure in the EVAP system. The ECM commands both the EVAP Purge Solenoid and the EVAP Vent Valve ON when the conditions are met in order to apply an engine vacuum to the EVAP system. The ECM commands the EVAP Purge Solenoid OFF once the system has reached a predetermined level of vacuum. This test verifies if a vacuum can be achieved in the EVAP system. Failure to develop a vacuum may be caused by a large leak or a restriction.
Possible Causes:

- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve
Did it ever start or is it still in the firld? BTW, the codes never "go away" unless cleared by a code scanner or disconnecting the battery for awhile.

It's still in the field.
Actually, the truck has 217,000 miles on it and I put 214,000 miles on it. Never had a major major problem w/ it. Truth be told, it still has the factory water pump, alternator, et al. I kept it overly maintained through the last 11 years.
So, where is this pump located? W/ the high mileage, I expect to replace a lot of usable parts.
Thanks for the info, guys.
