Default Transfer Case swap?

Hi, i was wondering if my 2004 1500 with the 241 transfer case can be swapped with the rare AWD transfer case? Can't remember what model the AWD transfer case is, but getting tired of the truck jumping around on dry pavement in the winter, with the 4wd selected.

Well that's my problem, our winters here in Greenland gives you a mix of road conditions for every mile. You can drive on compacted and hard snow one minute, where you need 4wd and the next minute you hit a stretch of road that is bare and you're driving on "dry" pavement. So if I were to shift between 4wd and 2wd according to the road condition, I would be having my hand on the transfer case shifter most of the time, while I'm driving.

Hence my question.

Besides ^^ (that's how you break stuff, shouldn't be engaged unless there snow, mud, etc), AWD TC's tend to be weaker. What is the goal for this, just so you can spin all 4 wheels all the time?

Ahh...we were all typing at the same time. Then AWD would actually make sense for you.
