2006 Ram 2500 5.7 with 6 speed manual trans.

Driving along and all the sudden when mashing the gas the truck just didn't feel right. Kind of a shudder under power. Place in neutral and let the clutch out and you get a clattering noise. Push the clutch in and it quits.

Clutch replaced 15k miles ago.

 

Throw out bearing. Shutter could be hot spots on the flywheel

 

Don't forget to replace the pilot bearing while you are in there, yup--think its time for a clutch. South bend builds a good one, and you can call them to get a custom build. I did, 130,000 or so miles ago when my pilot bearing destroyed the input shaft nose.
