Has anyone installed any rear lowering shackles on thier 1500 RAM??? I called around today at some truck places to find some lowering shackles so I could lower the rear end 2 inches so it would level out the look of the truck. My responses were discouraging. Two places said that the shackles they had would only lower the truck 1 inch, not hardley worth the efort since you probably would not even be able to see a difference. Another shop said they had some that would lower it about an inch and a half. I was wondering if anyone has successfully lowered thier truck a full two inches with shackles and which ones they were????[:-]

If's it's a pre-2006 then just cranks your torsion bars 5-6 turns to get an extr 1.5-2" higher in the front, that'll level it out and look nice as hell. I did it on mine, and eventually I will tuck some 35's

It has to be a 4X4 to have the adjustable "torsion bars"correct????

Yes. 2wd has coil springs up front. On the 2wd trucks, you can also add the urethane spring spacers, but takes a little work since you have to take the front suspension apart.
Contact Ground Force on the internet. I installed the shakles that poly. bushings. make sure to grease the outsides of the bushings before sliding them into the brckets or they will sqeak at every small bump. It's almost level but it does lower it alot more than you would think. Plus the shackles re acually shorter instead of longer. It's the way the leaf spring and shackles system is set up.
Contact Brian McClure at Slammed 1 Suspensions. He is the absolute guru for lowering Ram pickups...he supplied me my GroundForce shackles and already greased them for me too b4 shipping.... he does "slammed tours" do wher he drives to certain areas of the country to do drops an C notches and stuff..
