2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Overheating
They replaced Fan Clutch, Water Pump, and Thermostat. It is still overheating. What more could it be? They said they checked the temp going through the radiator and it was fine. Anyone else know what could be causing the problem?
Thanks!

Just a thought have you checked your hoses? Remember always start off cheap first what I mean is before you start buying water pumps and stuff like that check your hoses make sure they are good. Good luck let us know. Also are you running an electric fan at all? If so check your fuses. A blown fuse=blown motor.

Oh, dont have a clue as to checking my heater core, but I never misunderestimate myself. Is therethe definant way to test the heater core? I had to run my defroster on hotall the way home(1hr.) from work today.Coolant flow seems to be average, the small tank where the radiator cap is located is at the cold cold fill line when cold, and abit more than 2/3 empty when running after ten minutes or so. have'nt checked the return hose from the radiator back to the tank for some time, but I would THINK it would be something else,

RE: 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Overheating
Did you get to the bottom of your overheating problem? I've replaced the water pump, flushed the radiator, replaced the thermostat and it's still overheating. I have a 2004 dodge 2500 with only have 22,000 miles on it--bummer!! It overheated so badly the other day that the warning light "check gauges" came on. It overheats at slow speeds AND at highway speeds. I've put a large fan in front of the truck and it didn't affect the temperature. The shop put a heat gun on the radiator and it measured 150 degrees, but the engine registered 250 degrees. I checked the fan and it appears to be working and the hoses appear to be in good shape.I've read some info about adual heat by-pass to the radiator, but I can't find anything about where this would be located or if the 1500 ram with a towing package has this feature. I'm at my wits end!!!My shop said the dodge dealer called him the other day and couldn't figure out why someone's dodge ram was overheating after they replaced the water pump, etc. This appears to be a common problem with dodge ram pickups. Could it be a design flaw? HELP SOMEBODY!!!
