I have a 03 quadcab 4 wheel drive 5.7 Hemi My problem is i was on vacation and as i was driving down the freeway my check engine light came on then right after that my electronic throttle control light starting flashing then my truck felt like it was missing so i pulled over to look in my owners manual to find out what the flashing lightning bolt was. I turned the truck off then back on both lights went off and the truck ran fine so i didnt worry about it. Well 3 weeks later i have the same problem. So if anyone can help i would really appershiate it. Thank you

 

I recommend that you go to a place like advance auto or autozone. Usually they will check your engine codes for free. Even if the light turns off, the computer usually stores the code in the computer. That should at least give you some insight into the right direction. Post the results of the code, and then I'm sure somebody here will be able to help you out some more.

 

OK just went out and done the switch on and off trick and it give me 2 codes P2175 and P2106 thanks

 

ok, for starters, P2106--Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power
P2175--Throttle Actuator Control System - Low Airflow Detected

Beyond that, I have no experience with the throttle control system, so I can't help anymore. Hope somebody else can chime in for you or it ends up being a cheap and easy fix.

 

I have the same problem and I have 2003 QC 1500 4x4. It has happened only twice and both times were in the same place, but goes off right down the road. It was in a spot where I was on the interstate running 55 for around one hour.

I have had the same problem for about6 months. I took it to the dealership and they said they flashed the computer and it was fixed. It did not fix the problem. I took it back last week and watched them hook the hand held computer to it and he said the throttle bodie lost some of its programing or something like that. So he reprogramed it. This did not fix the problem either. I also have a 03 Hemi Quad Cab 4X4 and mineused to do this after 20 min of same speed driving.The temp is around 25deg and now it's doing it around town. I will keep you updated. I am takingit back in onThursday.

 

I also have an o3 qc hemi doing the same thing with both lights coming on constantly sometimes the engine light even comes on when idling. Had it in 10 months ago under warranty and flashed computer and blamed it on my aem intake, anyone else with intake? I had intake on 30,000 before this problem though and thats what i told dealer. The flash didnt help been doing it since i just have to stop and restart few times to get rid of lights or i clear with my superchips programmer, which does it still with program in or not. I am now afraid to take in as is out of warranty and dont feel like letting them play with at my expense . Help Please.

 

I have an AEM intake on my 03 hemi 4x4 and haven't experienced this issue. yet. Don't let them blame the intake. Also, dealers seem to think flashing the puter fixes a lot of things. I think they're wrong.

 

I'm gonna dig into the 03 service manual and see what I can find for you.
