I believe what kenihemi was saying earlier was not to get JUST the smt6 for the turbo. But to get the whole package with smt6, 8 larger injectors, and 2 bar map.
Yes, stick with 7psi on a stock engine.
This is my thoughts and what you do is totally up to you with downshifts. So far, the turbo folks are the only ones surving the downshifts. I have downshifted plenty on a stock trans with 10 psi of boost which is 700# tq at the flywheel. When you downshift, the engine goes to 0 vacuum and 0 load. Once the clutches have fully engaged, boost ramps up. It's having all that power in the middle of a downshift like the n/a and supercharged folks that is the main issue. Again, it's never recommended but it does appear the turbo folks have survived it SO FAR. knock on wood. lol

Man thats a huge letdown. And then if you go with a supercharger you cant downshift without breaking the tranny. So for us guys that tow it looks like we would have to go the supercharger route and get an upgraded tranny too right? Or can we somehow lower the boost on the turbo while towing to keep the egt's low?
