....the seats went back in, of course....

If i were not putting them back in, the box would be custom and would not be that small....

I would also need to know what speakers they are before I could suggest an amp to push them...

if you want to install the amp and keep ur back seat install the amp under the front seats and run the wires under the carpet to the subs that way. more wiring but there out of the way. thats how mines gonna be run but i have 2 subs going under the back seat and one under the front middle seat it replaced the bottom half of the seat.

The seats went back in people! I did not lose my seats. And the seats take 5 mintues to remove. There are 8 3/4" bolts (4 if you do not have the split back seat)

There is plenty of air movement back there with those vents, I know because I put an electronic thermo back there to make sure. I am also running a class D amp on the subs, which does not heat up as bad. But I also have 3 amps, so a single amp would be fine under the seat, I guess. I use that as storage space for tools, including a mechanics ratchet set and power drill. I need this space since I dont have any storage under the back seats (again, which ARE there now, just not in that pic). So, to each his own.

I do know that it will be MUCH harder for someone to steal my amps than it would be for someone to steal them from under the seat.

I got my amp from ebay, a Directed Class D D1200 (600wRMS mono). You can get them from hifielectronics forabout $109 shipped. It is a perfect match for these subs (jl w6AE's Dual 6ohm voice coils, run in paralell for a nominal 1.5ohm impedance), and sounds great. I also have the Remote bass controlwhich came with it, that helps me dial in the bass to each individual song.

I'm getting my new system, listed below, installed this weekend. There's tons of room under the front seat for any amp(s) i see no reason to put them anywhere else.

That's a serious job you have going on there mfs212! Impressive. Could you tell me how much it cost you to fully dynamatt your truck. I'm not pushin' as much bass as you are, but I'm still interested.

As far as running an amp for your speakers...somebody correct me if I'm wrong...you don't need to. Do you have after market speakers minyo16?

You can get 100sqft from ebay for less than $120, if i remember correctly. That is enough to do the entire truck, includingunder the carpet, behind the headliner, and a coupleof layers in the doors which are especially bad.

It is WAY WORTH the investment, and would be the first mod I suggest toanyone working on the interior. Not only does it improve your sound system, it SIGNIFICANTLY reduces road noise like loud tires and such. I got in my dads untreated ram, and could tell an extreme difference.

I am only pushing 600wRMS totalto my subs. The other amps are for the mids (largestamp in size, in the middle) and tweeters (that are mounted in the headliner..which is the smallest amp) It really is not anything extreme volume-wise, but it is really clean. Especially with the way I Bi-amped the system, which means I have a seperate amp for my mid-range speakers and my tweets.

If you end up getting some component speakers for the doors, i highly reccomend that you mount the tweets in the headliner. It really makes the sound come at you from everywhere....a really spacios sound.

RedRam05Baby has done something similar in the way of sound proofing. It is really easy, and can be done in an afternoon. You can remove all of the seats from the truck with a total of 16 bolts, and they come out in one peice (assuming that you have a friend to help you move them).
