Does anyone know if the overhead computer has a wire in there I can get power off of? I would like to wire my radar detector into there. That way with the radar on the window I want have much wire to mess with.

I was thinking about doing the exact same thing! Except I've been looking for a power source that comes on with the ignition so I don't have to worry about actually turning my radar on/off. I tried looking up under the dash too so that I wouldn't have to put it up so high on the windshield and couldn't find anything very safe under there either.
there is a power wire in the right pillar with nothing connected to it, it is on when the lights are on for the top cab lights.

I could not find a switched hot in the O/H console circuit of my '03. Taking the driver's side A-pillar cover off is not too bad. If yours matches mine, there is a four-wire harness under the steering wheel behind the knee bolster. Look for a lime green/black stripe wire. Confirm it's a switched hot. It's useful for powering relays and other low-current devices. You can also go to the cigarette lighter connections. Run the radar detector power lead through the pillar to the circuit you want to use. Make sure you fuse it! Seriously, this is an easy project.
Could I not splice into the wire going to the lights in the overhead? I know I would have to turn the radar on and off, but that is ok, I don't mine to.
Start with checking out this web site. While I have no idea the quality or cost, I'm sure you could make a connection by reviewing some of the installation instructions and forums.
