Default 2 Cylinders misfiring

I just bought my truck. 2002 1500 with 4.7l. It had a check engine light on and that was one of the stipulations was to fix whatever was causing the light. I took it in today and they said hat 2 cylinders are misfiring and they needed me to bring it back in. Maybe thats why this truck feels so anorexic. Anyone experienced similar problems. The truck has 90k on it.

What where the codes? You can do the key trick with your year to get the codes. With the key in the ingtion do this three times off-on-off-on-off-on--(keepkey on but dont start the truck) codes will be displayed on the odometer, then read done.

4.7s that have not been kept up with are prone to have cylinder cracks. Main cause has been found to be that not replacing the radiator fluid often enough causes it to get very acidic (corrosive) and it doesn't have to eat away much to get into a cylinder.
That means new engine time. I hope you have that stipulation in writing.

Of course it could also be simpler things like bad plugs, wires, etc. So hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...

its weird that hammer says the radiator fluid. my truck had some problems awhile back...same year and everything as yours.....but i had so much pressure in my radiator that it was blowing out the plastic pieces on the side. they fixed it and after that its been fine since...other than a water pump..knock on wood

Oh man, Iam goingthrough I similar problem, I bought my truck on Jan 31 with 45k miles on it, its a 2002, 4.7 L.

Right now, its sitting in my uncles garage in pieces, bc cylinder 1 was misfiring and a dodge dealership said it was the heads. Not knowing for sure since, they didnt take it apart and inspect it, I took it to my uncles, thats a mechanic, and low and behold, drivers side head is messed up, not sure exactly whats wrong, havent talked to the shop my uncle took it to and I havent seen it, but I do know, that its fixable and its supposed to be ready tomorrow.

Have you talked to the dealership you got it from, to see if they will fix it?

The dealership I bought mine from were completely useless and would not fix it because I was like 10 days late of being in the Dealerships, 30 day warrenty.

Good luck, Ihope its not your heads.

Hmm. Not sounding real good. I just got back from Memphis so my wife has the truck right now. Pretty cool sounding trick for engine codes. Hope it works.
Im not sure just how far the dealership is gunna stand behind this one if its too severe. I said that whatever the problem with the light was needed to be fixed after the purchase and they agreed to it. So IDK. They seem like some pretty good people. It was a toyota dealership. Im just going to have to hope for the bet right now I guess.

I plan on it. I did try the code thing, problem is the light hasn't come back on yet. If its severe cylinder problems or something along those lines do you think the code would come back on immediately? Is there any tricks to make the light come back on? (not that i really wish that) but it would be nice to see what code they've been clearing.
